Luís Vilar recently finished his PhD in Sports Sciences, investigating the informational constraints on attacker and defender performance in futsal. Currently, he is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Human Kinetics/Technical University of Lisbon and at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports/Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies in Portugal. His research activities are focused on Football/Futsal aiming to examine: (i) informational constraints on players’ performances; (ii) the influence of small-sided and conditioned games on skill acquisition and decision-making; (iii) the influence of team cognition on performance; and (iv) interpersonal patterns of coordination through network analysis tools. He teaches UEFA-pro courses for coaches. Currently, he is head of youth football department and coach at Colégio Pedro Arrupe. He was a football and a futsal player.
