Why don't you try this exercise in your team?

Ecological research on performance analysis has shown which information players use to act. The main theoretical principal of constraints-led approach is that coaches should manipulate gas constraints in order to facilitate players perceptual attunement to such sources of information. Removing such information from the task will force players to rely on different sources than they do in performance settings, inducing the emergence of different behaviours. Conversely, representative task designs are the one that enhance skill acquisition an decision-making transfers to performance settings. Here you can find three sub-groups of tasks with the goal to score goals, maintain ball possession or both. Just click and see!

Aim: Scoring goals

In this sub-groups of exercises you will find tasks that demand players and/or teams to score goals and/or prevent the opponents doing the same.

The minimum constraints to be represented are one attacker, one defender, one goal and one ball. Any task without one of these constraints does not represent the information players use to shoot and score goals, not being therefore representative.

Aim: Maintaining ball possession

In this sub-groups of exercises you will find tasks that demand players and/or teams to maintain ball possession and/or intercept passes from opponents.

The minimum constraints to be represented are two attackers, one defender and one ball. Any task without one of these constraints does not represent the information players use to pass and maintain ball possession, not being therefore representative.
